Bokasso Cooperative is a member of the Sidama Coffee Farmers Cooperative Union. It is located in the Wonsho woreda (district) of the Sidama region, and spans 4 different kebeles (villages) in the area. It's main washing station is located not far from the town of Yirgalem.
We first visited Bokasso in 2015 and we were impressed with the level of engagement of farmers and staff. Every single visit since we have had a full room of members, staff and board asking questions about us, our impression of their coffee, and expressing their challenges and aspirations. We purchased our first container of Bokasso's coffee in 2016 through Sidama Union and we were impressed by the quality. Bokasso's coffee is consistently floral, sweet, clean and balanced, with lasting flavours of orange blossom, lemon and dark chocolate.
Tasting Profile: Lemon, bergamot, black tea, orange blossom, dark chocolate, full-bodied and sweet.
